Railway Superstructure

Margaritelli is historically linked with the railway superstructure market, being one of the major suppliers of wooden sleepers to the State Railway since the 1950's.

This wealth of experience has steadily progressed over the years culminating recently in the contiguous field of pre-compressed railway sleepers.

Following the acquisition of the railway sector by INPREVIB in 1999 and the construction of new production plants in the Rodallo di Calluso (TO) and Casoli (CH) establishments, Margaritelli rapidly assumed a leading position amongst Italian manufacturers of concrete sleepers.

The improvement pioneered by Margaritelli over traditional technology used in this field is highly significant. Dywidag is the introduction of an advanced production system called "Post-teso evoluto".
In 2001 thanks to an international research project of different universities was made a new sleeper with innovative features. It is the first railway sleeper produced according to the latest European laws and used on the chief High Speed railway routes.
