The Guglielmo Giordano Foundation
The Guglielmo Giordano Foundation, dedicated to the memory of the famous scholar to which the Listone Giordano licence is owed, was established to promote historical and technological studies in wood and its applications.
The Foundation operates through courses, seminars, conventions, expo events and inter-disciplinary exchanges and publications.
Located within the area of Perugia, Umbria, in the prestigious Villa Spinola, the Foundation already promotes numerous events dedicated to the application of wood in the field of art and architecture.
In the near future the Foundation aims at creating an ambitious research program on wood application within three specific fields of study in relation to different historical contexts: The environment field, focusing on wood as a raw material and forestry resource to be preserved in relation to the environment, the territory and the landscape.
The scientific and technological field focusing on the study of wooden structures especially in architecture, and the field of arts researching the use of wood in visual arts, such as painting, sculpture, luthier's art and cabinet-making.
